It is no small secret that we here at Metblogs love a good donut (or doughnut, for those of you who love your silent letters). Luckily for us, we live in a city in which there is a donut shop on every street corner, in every strip mall, and in almost every single block of every neighbourhood. Some are nondescript, others announce their presence with giant, fiberglass donut replicas perched on their roofs. But this multitude of donut options can seem daunting. How do you decide which donut shop to hit up? Which donut shop can claim the title of Best Donut in Los Angeles?
Well, dear readers, luckily for you, we have figured out a way to bring all of the donuts of Los Angeles together, in one central location, where we can determine, once and for all, which donut holds the crown. Please mark your calendars for 1pm, on Sunday, June 13th: the date of the 2010 LA Metblogs Donut Summit!
Randy’s Donuts (Inglewood)
Dale’s Donuts (Compton)
Kindle’s Donuts (Westmont)
Donut King II (Gardena)
The Donut Hole (La Puente)
The Doughn-t Hut (Burbank)
The Donut Man (Glendora)
Tasty Donuts (West Hollywood)
Bob’s Coffee and Donuts (Farmer’s Market)
Stan’s (Westwood)
Angel Food Donuts (Long Beach)
WenDy’s Donuts (Venice)
California Donuts (Mid-City)
Spudnuts (West LA)
Primo’s Westdale Donuts (West LA)
Gladstone Donut House (Pasadena)
SK’s Donuts (Mid-City)
King’s Donuts(Alhambra)
Royal Donuts (Westchester)
Earl’s Donuts (Chatsworth)
(Please note that in purely totalitarian gesture, we have unilaterally decided that Krispy Kreme is not invited to the Donut Summit.)
The Los Angeles area has more Spudnut shops than anywhere in the country. You would be doing Spudnut lovers everywhere a great service by trying and reviewing the Spudnuts offered in your home area. For anyone near Woodland Hills, get a dozen Vegan Donuts from Righteous Fryers – cuz you gotta represent all donut groups! [email protected]
I will bring Manna Donuts in Chino, CA. I actually prefer these to Donut Man.
I’ve never benn there but going for holliday this year so will try for sure.
Regards
I’m near Woodland Hills, Tara–I can totally pick those up, and thanks for the info!
Donut Man has already won. It’s not a battle. It’s a mercy killing.
Christies Donuts on Foothill Blvd in Monrovia does the best donut in town (not to disqualify the other righteous donuts mentioned). Where they really shine is with their blueberry cream cheese croissant but that is sort of off topic.
Anyone live Downtown that can pick up a dozen bacon donuts from the Nickel Diner? We can be sure they’re as far away from the vegan donuts as possible.
I really like DK Donuts on Santa Monica and 16th.
