Hey there goth and shoegaze/ethereal/dreampop kids, or anyone who liked that Sarah McLachlan song “Silence”–Delerium, originally a side project of Front Line Assembly, is coming to LA on the 17th. 1. Surely “The Napoleon” ranks as one of the greatest goth dances ever. The slow, deliberate pace across the dance floor, hand appropriately tucked, defiantly and yet shyly ignoring the entirety of the crowd… Spotted, House of Usher, Berkeley, CA, c. 1994.

  2. Mine would have to be the “The Fly Swatter” as defined by Lilith Ezine (http://www.lilith-ezine.com/articles/gothic/howto_dancegothic2.html): “Plant feet. With both arms bent, wave one quickly back and forth in front of your face. Occasionally swap hands. Don’t move your feet.” Always makes me think of Tiffany’s music video from the 80s, slaughtering The Beatles “I Saw Her Standing There.” Her mind blowing choreography was, in fact, “The Fly Swatter.” Kind of a now-you-see-me, now-you-don’t antics.
