Attempted robbery at Lawry’s; cops shoot suspect

It sounds like a couple of guys (who may have been committing a string of similar crimes) tried to rob Lawry’s at gunpoint. They were already under surveillance when they fled toward the Miracle Mile area, the cops caught up to them.

Beverly Hills Streets Shut Down After Officer Shoots Suspect

Los Angeles police on Friday shot and wounded one of two men who allegedly tried to rob a Beverly Hills restaurant at gunpoint and then fled to the Miracle Mile area, authorities said.

Police said the intersections of San Vicente Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, and San Vicente and Olympic boulevards, were expected to be blocked for several hours for the ensuing investigation.

The shooting occurred at about 6 a.m. at San Vicente Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue, said Officer Julianne Sohn of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations office. No officers were hurt, Sohn said. [full story]
