Bottomfeeders guide to LA: Free Concerts in Monrovia’s Recreation Park
A long time favorite in Monrovia and neighboring communities out here in the SGV on Sundays is the “Summer Sounds” series hosted by the Monrovia Community Services Department and Monrovia Merchants. (The poster does get bigger with a click if you want to print a copy for your reference).
Its FREE. Its in a great big park with huge trees providing ample shade. Grab your picnic basket, blanket or chairs and just enjoy the evening.
This Sunday the music is classic “Pop” provided by “The Answer” and sponsored by Donna Baker of Dickson Podley Realtors.
The Details: 6:30PM Monrovia’s Recreation Park, west side inside “Constitution Circle”.
To get there: Find your way to the 210 Freeway and head towards Monrovia. Exit Mountain Avenue (35B) and turn north. Up four blocks, turn left at Olive Avenue. Turn right on Shamrock. The concert will take place on the west side of the park off of Shamrock Ave between Lime and Olive. Parking can get scarce so leave early.
A map and other music listings after the jump.

Once again a little salute to Travis K and her idea for the bottomfeeders guide to LA series. Brilliant.
As it happens, The Answer are friends of mine, and I can highly recommend their show. More than just classic “pop,” they are the best rock/cover/party band out there. You’ll have a great time at this show, or double your money back!
