Fullerton Gets Stabby

From the OC Register:

Two men were stabbed and injured Sunday night while watching a horror film at the AMC Theater in Fullerton during what appears to be a random attack, police say.

Man this was one of the movie theaters of my youth. Cute girls would reliably ignore me and my friends there in High School.

I recently saw Superbad there over the summer. And my cousins who are locals said the theater had gotten quite a bit seedier, but it seemed fine-ish.

Now this happens. Who randomly stabs folks at a movie? That’s like punching grandmas at a funeral. Easy targets, and really bad form.

  1. It’s the out of no where random shit that is the scariest.

What is interesting is someone in the comments afterwards did a “If this was CO the perp would not have gotten to the second victim”. That is a scary mentality all we need is some vigilante firing in a crowded space putting more people at risk is justifying gun possession. That to me is even scarier. Freedom of gun ownership is one thing, a vigilante shooting in a crowded theater to get at a bad guy is too much.

  2. Who stabs people at movie theaters? the same one’s who go around shooting people at random,
the streets are full of “nut cases” these days.

  3. Quite true rdizzy, but knives don’t pass through a target and get another victim in the process.

You are correct that its just a tool used by a nut job to exact some sort of damage, I just worry about an armed populace letting loose in a theater to get a bad guy.

Speaking as a CO native, that’s some bullshit. Now, New Mexico, there’s a place he might not’ve made it to #2.

  5. Sorry if I offended 5000 but I was just giving a quick paraphrase to what a commenter had to say. Not that I agree with the pegging a state, rather the comment brought up a more frightening scenario.
