Is the real estate market making young hooligans trigger-happy? Is it safe to go back on the dance floor? Where are Kid ‘n Play when you need them?
The Grand Avenue Night Club in Downtown Los Angeles should have been long gone by now. In its place, two grand towers rising known as City House and The Olympic. But then, the Earth cooled, and people stopped buying condos.
Grand Avenue became Crash Mansion L.A., where people seem to take their dance space personally. Get up in someone else’s junk, and you can get stabbed or shot, which is what happened last night, according to the LAPD.
“The shooting appears related to a fight that started inside the nightclub on the dance floor,” said Lieutenant Paul Vernon, head of detectives for the Central Police Station. “After a young girl was stabbed in the arm, patrons began leaving in large numbers. That’s when a man with a gun started shooting at other men in the parking lot.”
Remember when the most dangerous thing about going out was beer goggles? Good times.
