Be a good neighbor

be a good neighbor

Admittedly I haven’t walked around much in parts of West Hollywood and surrounding areas recently but last time I did I certainly don’t remember seeing these stencils on every corner. However, yesterday every place I turned I saw more of them. Near Sunset and Plam, near Beverly and Kings Road, near Santa Monica and La Brea. They are all over the place. Is this a city thing or a some vigilante poop-hater? Please tell me these things are new and I have just been missing them for years.

  1. They’re totally new, as far as I know. I was taken with them, too, and snapped a picture last week. They definitely were not there when I lived in WeHo (four and a half years ago) and I don’t think they were there a couple months ago.

  2. They’ve been around since I moved to WeHo last September, but most of the ones I’ve seen were black paint and thus maybe less noticeable.

  3. They’ve been in my hood for a few years now. I was once told the city paints them. I’ve even seen little yard signs with the stamp at some apt. buildings.

I think the signs sorta work a little bit. If one were to compare Weho to Hollywood in terms of less poop per square foot . . . weho wins.

Things must have changed dramatically since I moved from WeHo to The Valley back in 2001.

STG you couldn’t walk half a block without seeing at least 2-3 piles along with the inevitable smear job on the sidewalk where some poor bastard had inadvertently stepped without looking.

I’m certainly glad to hear those queens are finally picking up after their dogs.
