If you want a fun night out with great art, live music and did I mention “great art” check out the Monrovia Art Festivals Art Walk scheduled for Saturday night from 6:30PM to 9:30PM On Myrtle Avenue between Olive and Colorado in Monrovia’s Old Town. The artists will be set up on the east side of Myrtle Avenue…next to some of the best eateries in town.
All of the gallery’s in Monrovia will be open that night. The Paint N Play Gallery and Studio will be hosting a “Hot Havana Nights” featuring the abstracted paintings of Cuban painter Nicolas Reyes. As part of the festivitivites in honor of Mr. Reyes at the Paint n Play Gallery and Studio there will be Cuban music, food and rumor has it free flowing alcohol.
You are invited to become a “Featured Artist” at any or all of this year’s Art Walks! As a Featured Artist, you will be assigned a space along Myrtle Ave. (approx. 5×5 ft) to exhibit and sell your artwork. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to submit a short “Artist Bio” to be published in the Art Walk’s Event Guide. This can be short description of yourself and your art, or mention a special sale or offer on your work.
Electricity will be available along Myrtle Ave., however each artist is responsible for whatever booth materials (tables, chairs, etc.) he or she feels are necessary.
This year’s Art Walks are going to be bigger and better than ever, with great emphasis placed on attracting many new patrons/customers to view the works of our Featured Artists. Thanks to Family Festival Productions, we will be expanding the Art Walks to encompass both the 600 and 500 blocks of Myrtle Ave. on the East side. This creates room for up to 24 artists to display and sell wares of paintings, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, fiber arts and crafts.
Each artist’s work is subject to review and must be approved to enter the Art Walk.
Fees to enter the Art Walk as a Featured Artist are as follows:
$35.00 for ONE Art Walk date or $100.00 for all THREE Art Walk dates
This is a wonderful way for any artist to expose his or her work to the community! Please consider participating in these Art Walks as a Featured Artist, or inquire about volunteer opportunities (we need artists for live demonstrations at the events, planning committees and to distribute event information and posters).
