Metroblogging wants your blood.

blooddonors.jpgUPDATE 6/21 1:30am: The submission period is now closed. We’ll be contacting everyone in the few days after we’ve had a chance to review potential new authors… these are going to be some very tough decisions!

Blogging.la is looking for new blood.

It’s been a year and a half since our last open call for authors, and while we’ve added some bloggers in the meantime, we’re opening our ranks again to candidates with a unique or fresh outlook on Los Angeles who are willing to share it with a wide audience.

Here’s our qualifications:

  • Must live in the Los Angeles area – while we’re encouraging anyone to apply, we’re especially looking for folks in the areas where we’re short on writers, such as the West Side, the Valley, and south of the 10.
  • Ability and willingness to post at least three times a week.
  • Desire to cover topics that we’ve missed, or you think we need more of.
  • Be opinionated. If you find yourself often disagreeing with what bloggers here and on other sites are writing, we’d especially love to hear from you!

While already having a blog doesn’t hurt, especially to demonstrate your ability to post frequently, its far from a requirement. If interested, just send an email explaining why you’d make a great contributor, what area you live and/or work in, and what sort of entries you’d like to do.

This is an unpaid gig, but you have the opportunity to have your stuff read by over 3000 Angelenos on a daily basis. Vloggers, photographers, community journalists, gripers, and any other sort of blogger is encouraged to apply.
