Drink of the Week: the Corpse Reviver

My pal Peggy the Mixologist taught me this one. Lucky for us, getting a bottle of Lillet Blanc is as easy as driving to Gelson’s, and if you can’t get real absinthe (available online from lots of sites), Pernod will do but please just use one drop or that’s all you’ll taste.

Peggy’s Corpse Reviver
1 oz Bombay Sapphire Gin
1 oz Cointreau
1 oz Lillet Blanc
1 oz fresh lemon juice
1 drop Pernod or Absinthe

Shake with ice until very cold, then strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with one stemless maraschino cherry.

And remember to drink a toast to Peggy!
