I love the folks over at Project: gallery, even though they decamped for slightly less party-prone digs over in Culver City (click for press release on upcoming Culver City Artwalk). But IMHO it’s always a party when good, fun, interesting art is affordable. (click flyer to enlarge) And Project:’s commitment to helping both young artists and new collectors is still intact, even though they’ve moved to ground central for the LA art thang these days (someone please try the new grilled cheese restaurant for me while you’re over there!)
With favorite up-and-comers highlighting a collection that does a great job of incubating young talent, Project: takes one night a year to really dive into their ethos of keeping it real–all the art at this show is available for a hundred dollar bill. Way better than some stupid Ikea print (although don’t get me wrong, I love Kandinsky).
The exhibit opens today from 7-11pm, and runs through May 26th. Entrance is free; booze will, of course, be available, along with guest DJs so you can get your groove on even if you ain’t got a buck to your name.
