B.LA Field Trip – Whale Watching

bla-threehourtour250.jpgI’ve been writing about whale watching on b.la for three seasons now … don’t you want to get out there?

Here’s your chance, the official Blogging.la Whale Watching Trip

When: Monday, February 19th
President’s Day
10:00 AM-1:00 PM
Where: Redondo Sportfishing (on the Voyager)
How Much: $8.00 (normally $13.00-$17.00)
Why: Because the whales are out there … it’s edumicational!
How: Read “How to Go Whalewatching

The trip will be fully narrated by at least two certificated whale watch naturalists trained through the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium and American Cetacean Society (yes, one of them will be me).

The fine print on how to sign up for this trip after the jump.

To sign up for this group rate please email me: typetive-at(gmail) dot com.

Please include the following info:

    1. Real Name
    2. Real Phone Number (so I can call if you if the trip is cancelled due to weather)
    3. Number of people coming on the trip

Payment – you have two options:

    1. You can pay me in advance using PayPal (fully refundable if the trip is cancelled by Redondo Sportfishing). You will need to arrive 20 minutes prior to departure to claim your ticket.
    2. You can pay at the landing the morning of the trip in CASH with exact change. You must arrive 30 minutes early in order to claim your ticket(s) from me.

I’ll provide more info about that in the email. You are free to join us on that day without signing up for the trip this way, but you can’t participate in the reduced rate. (So if you need to play it by ear, that’s cool, too … it’s still not that expensive.)

In order to get this rate I must have a final number by Saturday, Feburary 10th at 10PM.

As we get closer to the date and have a good idea of the numbers we can even try to get some carpooling options together. You can keep up with the latest sightings with my Offshore Reports and of course the daily updates at the Gray Whale Census page.

Now go forth and spread the word!
