I’m not sure how new this is or if I just missed the announcements but today I stumbled across my.latimes.com which is a customizable (ala google news) front page for the LA Times. It has some default settings and I just clicked the “SoCal” option to see what it handed me. Imagine how surprised I was when it handed me Metroblogging Orange County as one of the editor’s picks! I’m really digging setups like this that let the readers decide what news they want and how they want to order it. Definitely a good move on the part of the Times. And their taste is clearly impeccable.
