Check it out – SECRET HEADQUARTERS is at it again!

This time it’s a book party for LUCHA NOIR.

“Lucha Noir” is a new all-lucha libre artbook from Xeric Award-winner Rafael Navarro and “From Parts Unknown” publisher Keith J. Rainville.

Ten years of commissioned illustrations, never-before- published ringside sketches, recently discovered roughs and studies, and even some never-before-seen rarities featuring Navarro’s acclaimed “Sonambulo” are collected. The book also features ‘Liner Notes’ from both the artist and the publisher on the artistic process, with anecdotes on rejected pieces, altered roughs, what worked and what didn’t and why.

On hand will be artist Navarro and publisher Rainville, alongside other creative types who have worked in various lucha libre-related projects. Besides “Lucha Noir”, available will be the acclaimed FPU masked-pulp novel “HOODTOWN” by Christa Faust (with her a likely attendee as well), and various back issues and rare tidbits from both the “From Parts Unknown” catalog and Navarro’s award-winning “Sonambulo” fare.

Mexican wrestling and beer start flowing at 8pm!!!

The format is akin to “The Jack Kirby Collector”, with lessons ala “Burne Hogarth’s Dynamic Anatomy”, and some “Pro Wrestling Illustrated” and “Men’s Adventure” from the 50’s thrown in for good measure. It’s a 112-page heavyweight champion for Mexican wrestling fans, aficionados of Santo flicks, and all aspiring artists.
