The Podcasters are coming! The Podcasters are coming!!

Holy crap! Did you know there are Podcasters, right here in LA? For serious! They even have a website to prove it. Check it out for an extensive list of folks in LA with audio recording equipment, server space, and rss feeds. As of this moment I haven’t listened to a single one of them so if they suck it’s not my fault. But I’m going to check them out right away, mostly I’ll be choosing by wittyness of the name. And if you want to actually get out of the house, turns out they have meetings that you can show up to and check out. Check it out!

  1. Sean:

Good digg. The LA Podcasters had a significant presence at the recent Podcast & Portable Media Expo in Ontario, California. From the buzz on the exhibit floor, they earn considerable props from their fellow podcasters… which merely begs the question: When is the b/la p/cast?

FYI, I hope to stop in at one of their gatherings someday (as well as Barcamp Los Angeles) to absorb the tech-pertise and energy necessary for pending Fire Department projects.

  2. Pfft! I remember when I had to walk five miles through the snow to convert my .wav files to .rm files, and then wait hours to upload the files via a dialup connection. And you know, we were happy to do it! Kids these days just don’t know how good they have it.

Oh BTW, Apple still claims podcast as a tradmark.

  3. Welcome to the podcast party!

You MUST check out “The Bitterest Pill” and “Cush: Things I Say” — they are among the best chroniclers of modern life in Southern California. I have also listened to “Verge of the Fringe” and enjoy his storytelling. I see they gave “Coverville” honorary L.A. status — one of the best. Give them a try and let us know what you think.

  4. Got to give the props again to THE BITTEREST PILL, (, though in the interest of full disclosure I must state that I have been a friend of Dan’s for over 20 years. That doesn’t make his podcast any less enjoyable though.
