Six Six Six Days of Satan!!! post kicks off six days worth of entries that will countdown to the impending Day of the Beast (known by the Christian influenced Gregorian calendar as 6/6/6). While I’ll be presenting some of the more wretched tales of Satan’s presence in the City of Angels over the next few days, I’ll begin with a calendar of events acknowleging the presence of demonic forces among us… I like to call this period “Halloween in June”.

This entry will be updated as new events are reported, so please contact me if there’s anything I missed (unsomnambulist at gmail dot com).

The Haunted Hacienda: the art of the Mexican horror film
Drkrm.Photo Lab/Studio/Gallery, 2121 N. San Fernando Road, Suite 3, Los Angeles CA 90065

A presentation of Images and art from Mexican horror films made between 1953-1970. “These films are, without a doubt, the closest thing to a cinematic acid trip you are ever going to encounter. Although influenced by the American gothic tradition, these films possess quite an antique soul that is uniquely Mexican. They reflect the Mexican heritage of pagan ritual against the dynamic of Catholic theology… The aesthetics to be found in the striking images in this exhibit create a new perspective reflecting the cultural attitudes in Mexican cinema; including the surreal comic book style poster art that adds yet another level of appreciation about films made in Mexico during the period from 1953-1970… an excursion into the midnight world of the Aztec mummy, masked wrestlers, doll people and busty Vampire women as we travel through the misty countryside to The Haunted Hacienda.

  1. Nice! Your list is much more intensive than mine! I think that makes you more evil than me. ;) So I assume Stanton LaVey is skipping out on the high mass ceremony for his own Satanic shindig/wedding.

  2. Missed one:
