Free to spectate. More than 200 English Bulldogs from at least three states will be drooling for real-life beauty queen judges that include Mrs. America and Miss Long Beach in this 2nd Annual contest. A producer from The Tonight Show will be looking for at least one bulldog to be a guest on the show with Jay Leno the evening following the contest. “

“A pet adoption fair and vendor fair will run from noon til 5 p.m. Agility dogs will perform before and after the bulldog contest. The bulldogs will be evaluated on personality, charm, face, figure, and first impression. Costumes and talent are optional. In addition to a year of notoriety and fame, the overall winner will receive a crystal water bowl from Tiffany & Co. and a 1-year supply of PEDIGREE dog food. The event is produced by Justin Rudd and his nonprofit 501c3 Community Action Team (CAT) and Haute Dogs. A $10 entry fee per bulldog benefits CAT. The reigning bulldog titleholder, Mr. Los Feliz, “Boo Boo” — now 3 1/2 years-old — will make her farewell walk and will be given the opportunity to “speak.” Gift baskets will be awarded for: oldest contestant; most wrinkled; most congenial; best smile; best kisser; most photogenic; furthest distance traveled; most talented; best attire; most fit; master lookalike; and best legs.
