Dark Side of The Bowl

I was listening to Jim Ladd on KLOS 95.5 last night, when I learned news I’m sure most people already know. Roger Waters is coming to the Hollywood Bowl on October 5th to perform the entire “Dark Side of the Moon” album, in addition to some of his solo work!

more after the jump…

The term “musical genius” gets bandied about these days, but Waters (formerly of Pink Floyd, for those of you living in caves) truly is one of the most brilliant musicians of our time. His concept albums are unequalled. If you ever want to listen to a great album through headphones, throw in “Amused to Death” and really listen to the words. It’s a work of art. It’s fifteen years old and still frighteningly relevant.

There’s no need to plug this show for Waters. Something tells me it’s going to sell out in about 20 seconds. For those of you that ARE fans, tickets go on sale at 10:00 AM this Sunday through Ticketmaster. I thought about not telling you all, but I couldn’t keep it in. This is is possibly a once in a lifetime chance to hear DSOM live.

Just wait a few minutes after 10 on Sunday to make sure I get my tickets first. :-)

  1. all I remember from last time (Animals tour) was a huge exploding pig and thousands of sheep with parachutes floating down from the sky over Soldier Field.

and I’m not 100% sure about the parachutes…
