The historic status helps make it more difficult to tear it down however it’s not the end all final say in the matter. At least from my understanding of things….

I do like it when Los Angeles actually saves a building from time to time (OH HOLLYWOOD STAR LANES HOW I MISS YE, you shoulda been a historical monument too!) but that part of town could still use a Whole Foods.
Well, it would totally put Nature Mart out of business, which is one block down, is all organic, healthy food, and is a small business. I’d feel really uncomfortable if Whole Foods came in and wiped them out.
