Bicycle Happenings

Tomorrow is the Downtown Art Ride, a bike based gallery tour that coincides with the Downtown Art Walk. We visit every gallery on the tour, except MOCA Grand and the Library. We start out at the Downtown Art Gallery, meeting at 5pm and leaving at 5:30pm. Downtown Art Gallery is located at 1611 S. Hope St.. Free parking is available next to the gallery. For those taking public transit, the gallery is less than a half mile from the Pico Blue Line station and only 1.1 miles from the 7th/Metro Red Line station. You can print out this GMaps Pedometer map, or just show up and follow the group. The map of galleries participating in the Art Walk is also available as a PDF. You can subscribe to the Art Ride mailing list by sending an email to [email protected] Don’t forget to bring a lock! [Special thanks to Eric Richardson for helping compile route and transit info… he’s also working on a real map!]

Friday night is Midnight Ridazz and the theme is MAKE OUT:

Tell your mom you’ve gone to the mall with your friends.
Tell your dad there’s a dance in the junior high gym.
They’ll hardly suspect you’re actually on…

a HOT DATE with YOUR BIKE.

Midnight Ridazz is 2-years old!
Celebrate this sordid affair with a midnight ride on your 2-wheeled sweetheart.
Dress your bike up like the hottie it really is.

Meet 9:30, ride at 10pm
Pioneer Chicken, Echo Park & Sunset

The ride is long and ends near Dodger Stadium.
There is a hill at the end.
BYO drinks and snacks.
DON’T LITTER
NO RIDAZZ LEFT BEHIND.

UPDATE: I registered a domain and built a quick website for the Downtown Art Ride. I will be adding more info soon along with a great map that Eric Richardson created at his new job.
