Right passing

passing side, suicide

In case it wasn’t pretty obvious, passing on the right is a bad idea. Vehicles have much bigger blind spots on their right-hand sides and this can make for a very dangerous situation if a giant truck decides to make a lane change when you are quickly approaching on their right. This truck was helpfully labeled to clue in drivers of the risks they are taking when they pass on the right. This photo was taken in traffic at about 10mph, so the risks are significantly reduced, also do as I say not as I do [Taking photos whilst driving is equally as dangerous if not more dangerous than right passing].

  1. Not to mention “don’t jump right in front of a truck when you finish passing it.” Give it space to stop in case you have to slam on your brakes. Takes them forever to stop.
