This was on the Downtown LA Life mailing list yesterday:
REGENT SEAFOOD RESTAURANT The Regent Seafood Restaurant has made the most impressive Chinese restaurant clean-up, and I do mean clean-up for late 2005. Starting with a toxic health shaking "C" in November (You would vomit if you saw why they received a "C"), to a wonderful "A" about two weeks later. Congratulations! 747 N MAIN ST LOS ANGELES, CA 90012 Current Score: 100 A Inspection Date: 11/16/2005 Inspection History Inspection Date: Score Letter Grade 11/04/2005 77 C 07/14/2005 87 B 03/29/2005 86 B
I know we’ve talked a bit about whether the grading system deals fairly with Chinese restaurants. But either way, this seems like an admirable effort by an establishment to clean up their act. I don’t know how their food is (Citysearch gave them an impressive 8.6), but if you’re looking for Chinese in downtown anytime soon, give them a chance. It seems like an effort like that deserves some support.
Great Food!! I’ve been going there with my family since I was a kid. Always a pleasure to eat there!! Best Mayonnaise Shrimp in the LA/South Bay area!!!
