Bicycle Diaries

Bicycle Diaries is about an attempt to cycle from Panama City to Los Angeles in aid of Casa Alianza, a charity committed to defending the rights of street children across Central America.

Starting this past July, these three students from the UK have been cycling and posting periodically to their blog and to their Flickr account. They even got a send-off message from Monty Python member and world traveler, actor Michael Palin.

The latest blog entry is from October 6th. They were in Palenque, Mexico, had traveled 3293 km at that point, and had raised £8,393.27. Their goal is to raise £10,000. And it appears they’re hoping to be in Los Angeles by January.

UPDATE: Just after I posted this, they posted a new entry on the blog. They’re now in Puerto Escondido, Mexico.

  1. Without your post I doubt if I would have ever found out about this, and they wouldn’t have the donation I just made. What an amazing feat and challenging endeavor those guys have undertaken. Thanks for sharing it.
