AIDS Project LA to help out Gulf Coast AIDS organizations

AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) is planning on helping out AIDS projects in the Gulf Coast region affected by the hurricanes for this year’s AIDS Walk Los Angeles, coming up on October 16, 2005.

Many people with HIV/AIDS in the region are among the survivors. We at APLA think it is important to realize that the organizations they count on for support will need to be rebuilt, right along with homes, schools and hospitals that were damaged or destroyed.

You can register for the AIDS Walk at this site. ‘This 10-kilometer (6.2 miles) AIDS Walk begins and ends in West Hollywood and aims to raise urgently needed funds to help prevent the spread of HIV and provide life-saving services for those living with and affected by HIV and AIDS.’
