Deadly Freeway Shooting?

I can’t find any details from any of the usual news suspects at this early point, but a coworker just told me she was speaking with her niece who was approaching the 110/10 freeway interchange when she witnessed an occupant in a vehicle fire rounds at the occupant of a second vehicle, with allegedly fatal results. Anyone else hear about this? was idiot enough to believe/post something that just didn’t happen. Color me a super sucker.

  1. There was response to any such incident at that time/location by Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics.

    Stay Safe and Be Well,

    Public Service Officer
    Los Angeles Fire Department

  2. Will, please go easy on yourself. While I can assure you that no Los Angeles Fire Department resources were dispatched to (or near) that location at that time, and that there were indeed no shootings reported *to our agency* in that region, that does not mean that something didn’t happen. Sometimes there is never a 9-1-1 call, and people have been known to drive or be driven directly to the hospital in private vehicles.

  3. Thanks Brian. I was hesitant to post anything about the incident because there was nothing indicating even so much as a traffic hazard at or around the 110/10 interchange at that time on any of the several real-time traffic maps I looked at online. The coworker’s neice was telling her that there were helicopters in the air and that she had pulled over and puked after “watching a guy get killed right in front of her.”

Certainly something may have happened that went unreported to your agency, but a fatal freeway shooting and the ensuing investigation would have impacted traffic a staggering amount and been all over the news last night… so it sounds like either a fabrication by the PR or at best an immense exaggeration and I got totally fished in. Hate it when that happens.
