You Are Not Alone.

Since I made it a point in my last post to say that it would be nice to think that somebody else gave a shit, I wanted to point out that somebody else does. One of the people I contacted about the drugstituion problems on my block was the Field Deputy at my Councilman’s office that’s assigned to my area. He’s a stand-up guy and gave me a great response and I feel obliged to point that out in public. Also, I thought it was a good reminder that we should be involved with our local politicians. I’m lucky enough to have a Councilman with whom I generally agree and who has a great staff. But even if you don’t, maybe moreso if you don’t, you should be calling them and letting them know what you think about the place you live. If people spent as much time talking to their local and state reps as they did organizing MoveOn house parties we’d all be in better shape. Especially if you live in an area that needs the attention.

Also, Unsomnambulist posted a great link to the LAPD website about Neighborhood Watch. Good reading.

  1. One of the web tools that EVERY City of Los Angeles should have is a bookmark to this page:

Enter your _City of Los Angeles_ street address and voila! You now know *exactly* who to contact when you get motivated to do so.

Another great resource for anyone within the _County of Los Angeles_ is:
