But I found one thing particularly fascinating was the fact that movie piracy, which has usually been the key factor that’s cited (at least it is in the music industry), wasn’t mentioned at all. Instead, high ticket prices, lackluster storytelling, and the popularity of the home theatre were, according to The Times, apparently to blame.
But wasn’t piracy the reason why the MPAA paid the LAPD to install those security cameras in Downtown L.A.? So why the omission in these articles? Are people actually trying to figure out what the problem is? Hmmm, curious.
