Google Maps Adds Support for One Way Streets

Anyone who has ever gotten directions off the internet has at one point been told to turn the wrong direction onto a one way street and had to improvise at the last second to find out where they were going. Luckily Google Maps just added little arrows onto one way streets so you know where you can and can’t turn. A feature like this makes a night and day difference when you are looking at an area such as downtown Los Angeles where most of the streets are one way at some point and missing a turn can mean having to circle around 5 or 6 blocks to get back to where you were going. Thanks to Eric for the tip.

  1. One step forward. When they add support for not telling me to take non-existant freeway exits I’ll start using them again.

  2. It’s funny, when I use google maps for Manhattan, I want a button that IGNORES one-way streets so I can plan my walking route.
