Today’s freeway shooting brought to you by the 110!

freeway-shooter.jpgI can’t find any links to this online yet but I just heard that there’s been another freeway shooting today, this time on the 110. Anyone have the details? I’ll update this post when I know more. Brian Humphrey just posted in the comments and says: “Dunno where the shooting occured, but the victims were discovered at the 8th Street ONRAMP to the Southbound 110 (Harbor Freeway).” So, yeah, guess I’m taking surface streets home.

Also, KFWB has a photo that the police have released as the suspect of this week’s Tustin shooting (we didn’t bother to blog about it since some dude just got his tires shot out and no one was actually hit). Police are looking for a 1997 or 1998 White 4-door Ford Taurus with dark interior, perhaps with 30-35 year old with a Hispanic man with long, collar-length hair inside waving a revolver around. The number to call if you see someone fitting this description is (714) 573-3251.

UPDATE OK, so maybe the surface streets weren’t the best idea, since it looks like that’s where this took place. The LA Times is reporting that the shooting happened on Bixel and the car finally stopped on the 8th street on ramp. One person was killed and one person was wounded. My big question about all of this which I aven’t seen answered anywhere is from what angle are these people being shot? Are they being fired on from the side or front where they might have some idea what is going on, or from behind in which case they might not have even known anything was up.

  1. Anyone have the details

Dunno where the shooting occured, but the victims were discovered at the 8th Street ONRAMP to the Southbound 110 (Harbor Freeway). I gave everything else we know to the CHP and LAPD. Hopefully they’ll have some of it on the news soon.

  2. So that’s what that hold up was…

I drove by there at around 4pm and the cops were all over the place. Just two or three patrol cars and a firetruck but no coroner’s van or anything like that.

It appeared as if a car had gone off the road, down the hill, but never would I have thought it was part of the freeway shootings.
