B.LA MYSTERY PHOTO CONTEST / VOL. 1, NO. 10

0613mp.jpgI dunno, maybe it was that really shocking news last week of Ronnie taking everybody by such serious surprise and unexpectedly dying that’s still got me so bummed out and not really interested in anything… like this contest. I mean I figured he had, what… one maybe two more years left in him easy, right? Hell, he was only 93. Sounds like he just gave up. Chickenshit if you ask me, but gawd I miss him more today than yesterday and half as much as tomorrow. So I’m gonna get back to dumbly staring at the never-ending coverage of it dragging on and on from my television, but if I can keep my heartbreak in check for another moment before I go, let me name Katie as the randomly selected winner of last week’s mystery photo. “I believe that it may be the Rowena Reservoir as described on this page,” she wrote, even providing the link.

Clue: No backstory to this week’s photo. I was hoping for a better one of something by the L.A. River, so that Sean Bonner could finally have a chance at winning, but maybe next week. Or not. Short story shorter: I found this decidedly dirty plaque of Dodger great Roy Campanella pictured above embedded in the decidedly dirty sidewalk in Echo Park somewhere. Where? Go crazy telling me.

tinytush.jpgBack to the old rules. No more random winner crap. Too much work. So, first one to correctly identify the location and subject of the above image will win the admiration of the blogging.la readership (or me, whichever’s greater at the time) and a collector’s edition Tush sticker printed with real ink and made with real adhesive. In the event of no one getting it right, the creator of the most entertaining guess will be hailed victorious.
