Go Botanical

harlequin.jpgThis Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. is the Huntington Botanical Gardens’ 30th Annual Plant Sale. This is when the Huntington takes clippings from lots of rare plants in its collection and sells ’em off to average folks like you and me. Well, probably more like you, since I’m not really a gardener.

Anyway, come peruse the wares, including Persicaaria ‘Red Dragon,’ Pulmonaria ‘Moonshine’ and Hypericum androsaemum ‘Gladys Brabazon.’ I have no idea what these plants are, but they sound like the names of, respectively, a kung-fu movie, a spaghetti western and a schlocky space epic.

  1. thanx for the tip!
    i’ve meant to go before,
(along w/intentions of attending the arboretum’s similar event)
    but haven’t done so, yet.
if i cover the jpl open house on sat, that leaves sun available for a huntington field trip.
…just to think of such potential efficiency in maybe covering TWO nerdy events so dear to my heart in ONE weekend?:
that’s, possibly, the swellest news i’ve heard in…
    some time.

  2. I hope you had tea, too! I mostly became a Huntington member for the tea room. I’m not made of wood.
