Shake It Like A Polaroid Picture

Doc wants to remind us that we might feel the earth move before too long. The internet says:

earthquake-socal-map-bg.jpgA US geophysicist has set the scientific world ablaze by claiming to have cracked a holy grail: accurate earthquake prediction, and warning that a big one will hit southern California by Sept 5.

Russian-born University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) professor Vladimir Keilis-Borok says he can foresee major quakes by tracking minor temblors and historical patterns in seismic hotspots that could indicate more violent shaking is on the way.

And he has made a chilling prediction that a quake measuring at least 6.4 magnitude on the Richter scale will hit a 31,200-square-kilometre area of southern California by September 5.

Make sure to stock up on your brooms and dustpans.

  1. So how far east of Los Angeles is this cataclysm supposed to occur? Because I upped my Arrowhead delivery, but I don’t want to panic if it’s just going to knock the signs off some outlet stores in Palm Springs.

  2. My mom keeps telling me that my husband and I need to leave L.A. before 2010 – since she firmly believes some natural catastrophy will happen here then. She and dad, of course, insist that Finland really is the only place to live – and that we really should come to our senses and move to Scandinavia very soon!
