Given the underwhelming response to the inaugural edition of this cheesy endeavor, I’m guessing that this week’s mystery pic is going to generate even less interest (if that’s possible), in large part because it’s a much tougher one to EyeDee. In other words, how does that old En Vogue song go? “Never gonna get it / No you’re never gonna get it…” I was beginning to sing that last week until bubblicious Bronwyn chimed in at the last second and correctly answered that the subject of the previous week’s image was located on Myra (just south of the Sunset Boulevard overpass).
Clue: The margarita’s-eye-view image was taken of this statue, which also happens to be identifiable by the street near which it resides , but an historical street where no cars travel. Bonus points if you name the establishment it oversees.
Rules First one to post a comment most correctly listing the location wins the admiration of the blogging.la readership (or me, whichever’s greater at the time) and a collector’s edition Tush sticker printed with real ink and made with real adhesive. In the event of no one getting it right, the creator of the most entertaining guess will be crowned.
Well Olvera St. is the most obvious answer based on your clue, but I don’t know the establishment off-hand. :)
Right you are Robert: Olvera Street. The sticker’s yours if, come Sunday, no one’s provided a more specific answer.
I believe the restaurant is La Luz del Dia.
Ahhh, John… La Luz is La Wrong. But thanks for playing and feel free to give the wheel another spin!
Just wondering… is it the church that’s sorta across the street from Olvera Street?
Hi Nicole, No Sunday services will be found at this establishment, but they do serve up a heavenly carne asada plate.
Is it at the El Paseo Inn?
Mr. Smith goes to Olvera Street! You are corrrect, sir! This saintly ornamentation is absolutely to be found in the El Paseo Inn restaurant on Olvera Street. Now the only thing keeping you from claiming the much-coveted prize is if someone before Sunday brings even more specificity to its location within the Inn.
so nice being here..
see you my friend…
After a long search, I finally found your site. My granny used to say, that you must never give up to reach a certain aim.
So keep on going like I did it recently.
