Theoretically Listening

Theory Radio
Air America may have Al Franken and Janeane Garofalo, but it’s still a bunch of talking and they can’t swear, either. Come dinnertime, tune in online to L.A.’s independent Internet radio station, Theory Radio. From 6:30ish p.m. to 11ish p.m., Monday through Friday (check the nightly schedule for details), treat your eardrums to real music chosen by real people who take real requests.

It sounds great on my Soundsticks! You can’t beat a multimedia speaker system that looks like two dildos and a jellyfish!

  1. Two dildos and a jellyfish? Talk about reinterpreting Beck’s “Where It’s At!”

  2. Well, a friend of mine is one of the DJs, and I asked him for more information, but he hasn’t gotten back to me yet.

I do know that at least two members of The Ministry of Unknown Science, a local sketch comedy troupe, participate. You can find them on the Web here:

I don’t know for sure, but I think the DJs may spin, virtually speaking, from the comfort of their own homes. So, there really is no physical location. Ah, the magic of cyberspace!

Anyway, until I get more information, I’d say just e-mail one of the addresses they list under “Contact.”

  3. I love that they actually have a show called “Strange Games and Funky Shit” – that is so not allowed these days on broadcast.
