Since the contracts are now signed and things are official, I wanted to be the first to let everyone know that a deal Jason and I have been working on for a few months has finally gone through.
As of midnight last night, we have officially sold Blogging.la to LA.com. I know it’s crazy, but before you freak let me explain. After all the controversy a few months back they started e-mailing us about putting the past in the past and moving ahead with the best of both sites in mind. Needless to say Jason and I were skeptical, but we listened to their thoughts, which turned into offers, which turned into good offers, which turned into great offers and that’s brought us to where we are now. A lot of things are going to change on the behind the scenes portion, but to readers everything should be the same as always, with the exception of a few more ads here and there. On the back end, we’re getting an office! And paychecks! Wow!!
I haven’t mentioned this all of the bloggers yet, or to any of them really, but that is what the hold up was a few weeks ago when we were trying to add them, to the site. I had everyone picked but the laywers had to add names and pages to the contracts before anything could go live. This won’t really effect them in anyway, and if you are reading this going WTF? calm down, I’ll be sending out an e-mail today explaining all the details and what this means.
Anyway, it’s offical now. Additionally we’re talking of doing one of these in every major city so if you know people who want to write, tell them to get in touch with me.
Thanks to everyone who helped make this possable, and congrats for a job well done! (sorry Jonah)
UPDATE: April fools.
