MR. BAGUETTE

Yummy! Vietnamese sandwichs combine that glorious satisfying feeling of fresh french bread with nature’s candy (meat) and marinated veggies (nature’s second candy… I guess). Today, I ate 3.5 sandwiches at Mr. Baguette in Rosemead and they were deeeeeelicious, but now I might die.

The sandwiches are foot longs, made with crispy-on-the-outside soft-on-the-inside fresh baked french bread; and you have the option of getting sesame on your bread, too! I had grilled beef and roast beef sandwiches, but word on the street is “the special” is the one to get. If you find yourself in the SGV and hunger for the best $2-$3 dollar meal ever, Mr. Baguette hooks it up. It’s located on Valley Blvd (in Rosemead) and is between Walnut Grove and Rosemead Blvd. And don’t worry, plant-eaters, they offer vegetarian sandwiches that my herbivore friend reports is good eats.

  1. Jessica, am I to understand you downed 3.5 footlong sandwiches in one day, or am I skewing the timeline? Or the quantity? If not such a capacity reminds me of that scene in “The Coneheads” when Chris Farley marvels at the conehead daughter’s ability to down a sub. You go, girl!

  2. Jozjozjoz – we were actually supposed to go to Lee’s because I’d never been, but Mr. Baguette was closer. I’d like to go to Lee’s soon though! I hear it’s (even) cheaper.

Will – Yes! 3.5 feet of sandwich in one day. 1 for lunch, 2 for dinner, 1/2 for later snack (and only because my friend’s dog stole two sandwiches off the kitchen counter or it would’ve been more!) I’m a hungry hungry girl.

  3. Lee’s is soooo gooood. I’ve never tried Mr. Baguette. I think we need to conduct a scientific study ‡ la the pizza taste test!

  4. Never been to Mr. B’s due to the fact that I’m firmly entrenched in the OC, but am a giant fan of Lee’s! If they could install some drive-thru ones it’d be perfect, because parking is so atrocious at the two locales I frequent (Lil Saigon & Garden Grove). Anyway, so in love with #11 that I WOULD marry it, if I weren’t already hitched.
