Killer Danish

Lars von Trier fans: Put down your digital camcorders and coffee table books of crime scene photographs and join the rest of us at the Egyptian Theatre’s retrospective, which runs until next Sunday the 28th.

Tonight is the uncut version of The Idiots, but the real fun starts next Saturday with series one of von Trier’s The Kingdom, which is easily the most amusing television series about a haunted hospital ever. I haven’t seen the new Stephen King attempt, but it must be suffering without Udo Kier as a creepy giant baby.

Also, this is my first post on blogging.la, so go easy on me. My apologies if von Trier is like, soooo 1995.

  1. Ooh, thanks for the reminder. I try to never miss a theatrical screening of Zentropa. I’ll be back at the Egyptian tomorrow night, then. Just when they thought they got rid of me skulking around for the Orson Welles series.

  2. A little off topic but…

I haven’t seen The Kingdom yet, so I’m sure it’s far superior, but I was pleasently surprised by Stephen King’s Kingdom Hospital. It was strange and creepy and all the things that the last 15 or so King films have NOT been. Color me impressed.
