18th Annual Hot Rod and Custom Car Show in Old Town Monrovia Saturday 10/25

This is it. My most favorite old car show in all of LA.  Why? Because the damn thing is free, no admission at all with a couple of hundred cars to view up close.  Plus, those car owners are the friendliest bunch of guys who will talk forever on their barn find turned custom car if you let them.  They’ll even let you wander around and take a bajillion pictures of it.  If you ask them really nice they’ll even take put the hood down so you can admire the entire car instead of the disturbed lines cause by a gaping maw.  I never, ever miss this event and neither should you if you love old cars and customs.

There will be awards given to many of the cars.  There will be raffles with proceeds going to benefit the Monrovia Library Fund.  Many of the restaurants in town will have sidewalk dining available as well as several food tents.  Its an old car centric event so plan on a lot of 60′s music, mostly some surfer stuff but some dedicated just to cars like the Beach Boys “409″.

Details: Saturday 10/25/08, 9AM-2PM.  Myrtle Avenue, Monrovia CA 91016.  MAP LINK
