This weekend is the Concorsco Ferrari ’15 to be held in Old Town Pasadena.  Its open free to the public and will include hundreds of Ferrari’s along the stretch of Colorado from Raymond Avenue to Pasadena Avenue.  Quite the collection of cars.

Also known as Ferraris on Colorado, this signature event hosted by the Ferrari Club of America Southwest Region delights over 5,000 owners, enthusiasts and spectators each year. Impressive Ferraris from around the country will line Colorado Boulevard from Pasadena Avenue to Raymond Avenue. Adding to the entertainment will be a vast array of sponsors and partners displaying exceptional sports and luxury cars, offering quality accessories & fine apparel and introducing various automotive related services.

This Ferrari exclusive annual concours is free and open to the public. Ferraris from 2004 and earlier are eligible for judging. Judging will follow FCA National Guidelines IAC/PFA
(International Advisory Council for the Preservation of Ferrari Automobiles). Awards in up to ten classes will be made at the conclusion of the event by an esteemed panel of Ferrari experts.

I have on good authority, make that very good authority that this show for THIS year is opening up for other super cars such as the McLlaren and Pangani to name drop a few.

23rd Annual Street Rods Forever show in Monrovia Saturday

September 12, 2013 in Driving, Entertainment, Food & Drink, News, San Gabriel Valley

This show is one of my all time favorites, not because its where I live, its because its a terrific show focused on one type of car…street rods and other customs.  Every car has a story and the owner will gladly tell you how he took it from who-knows-what-condition to the street rod or custom you see now.  Seriously, they love to talk about the trials and tribulations of getting that car to show quality or at least driveable. 18th Annual Hot Rod and Custom Car Show in Old Town Monrovia Saturday 10/25

This is it. My most favorite old car show in all of LA.  Why? Because the damn thing is free, no admission at all with a couple of hundred cars to view up close.  Plus, those car owners are the friendliest bunch of guys who will talk forever on their barn find turned custom car if you let them.  They’ll even let you wander around and take a bajillion pictures of it.  If you ask them really nice they’ll even take put the hood down so you can admire the entire car instead of the disturbed lines cause by a gaping maw.  I never, ever miss this event and neither should you if you love old cars and customs.

There will be awards given to many of the cars.  There will be raffles with proceeds going to benefit the Monrovia Library Fund.  Many of the restaurants in town will have sidewalk dining available as well as several food tents.  Its an old car centric event so plan on a lot of 60’s music, mostly some surfer stuff but some dedicated just to cars like the Beach Boys “409”.

Details: Saturday 10/25/08, 9AM-2PM.  Myrtle Avenue, Monrovia CA 91016.  MAP LINK
