This is my favorite event of the year and it starts tonight and runs through July 2nd. It is the 626 Night Market, the premiere event of the summer here in the 626. Food, Music, Shopping and FUN. Its an experience not to be missed.
Parking fills fast so arrive early or Uber/Lyft in from the Arcadia Metro Gold Line Station. If you must drive take the 210 to Arcadia, Exit Santa Anita and follow the signs to the Santa Anita Racetrack.
Last year was awesome fun. This year promises more of the same at the 626 Night Market held at the Santa Anita Park in Arcadia. Its one of the biggest events of the year in the SGV…second to maybe the Rose Parade thingy, but that has no food, bands or stuff. This, the 626 Night Market has tons, TONS of food, live bands and all sorts of stuff you didn’t know you needed for sale. Cheap.

It’s here the final 626 Night Market, the thing to do in the SGV, is this weekend. Friday night it starts at 4PM and runs Saturday into Sunday too. Food, stuff, music and special guest appearances market this weekend.
Theres still no transit way to make it there. From the 210 Exit Santa Anita and drive south to Huntington. Make a right and follow Huntington to the Santa Anita Park.
Parking is free and admission is a measly $3 per person.

I’ve been waiting for what seems an eternity for this to get here, but the 626 Night Market at Santa Anita Park is this weekend. Great food, great people, fun chotskies and awesome food. Yes, I was redundant, but the food is really the star at this event.
As a local I’d suggest skipping the Baldwin exist off the 210 as its been sketchy due to Gold Line rail connstruction the last several days. Exit Santa Anita Ave and head south, make a right at Huntingon Drive and follow it to the main entrance for Santa Anita Park. Next year, the Gold Line will be a fait accomplait and will give you instructions on how to get there from the Arcadia Gold Line Station, until then its freeway baby.
Parking is free, Admission is $3 per person. Such a deal.

OK, its my little obsession, but its fun. The 626 Night Market is CROWDED crazy, but fun. Get there early while the food is still plentiful and Parking is easiest. Prepare for crowds, but they are friendly and festive so its all good. Prices are reasonable, not cheap but worth every penny. Not much in the way of ‘mericanized stuff, but thats a good thing.
Getting there is easy. The Santa Anita is constricted due to construction for the Gold Line, I’d recommend exiting at Huntington 1 mile east and follow Huntington, a right turn heading west to Santa Anita Race Track and the 626 Night Market.
Deets Saturday 8/31, Sunday 9/1, 4PM to 1AM. 285 W. Huntington Drive,Arcadia, CA 91007 (Gates 3 or 5 off Huntington Drive; Gate 8 off Baldwin Avenue) MAP HERE. Free parking. Admission $2 4-6PM, $3 after 6PM.
I love this guy. “Mad Asians Everywhere”, actually its a great mix of us folks from here in the SGV. The Night Market is a ton of fun, an emersion in all things Asian, food trucks, art, junk you name it. And a ton of jovial folks. Arrive early and you save a bit on admission and get easier parking. Things get pretty insane around 8PM. Saturday is the busiest day of the 2 day event, but that isn’t saying much as the place is PACKED. To give you an idea how big and popular this event is they have added another weekend to the mix, August 31 and Sept 1.
Sorry, there isn’t an easy way to get to the 626 Night Market by train. Yet. The Gold Line is still over a year from arriving in Arcadia and Monrovia. You have to drive it on the 210 and Exit Santa Anita. Do allow for a little extra time on Santa Anita as the roadway is a bit constricted in parts for Gold Line construction. An option to avoid that is to take the Huntington Drive exit a mile east of Santa Anita, make a right turn and then follow it until you get to Santa Anita Park.

The first effort was grand, but it was way to small to handle the crowds. The second event was in a bigger location but even then it was too small for the crowds it drew. How to make it even bigger and better? Score a deal with the folks at Arcadia’s Santa Anita Race track off Huntington Drive. This event is promised to be big enough to handle any crowd tossed at it. Add in ample parking (there is no mass transit to there yet) and this is set to be a really fun event without the horrendous waits of the original back in July.
