What is your experience as a writer?

life. i have no formal training or experience as a freelance writer, but i do have behind me a strong upbringing, a fortunate lineage of schooling, and the street cred knowledge of how to make the most of google searches and spell check.

What are your favorite topics to write about?

i am a total foodie.

What tips would you offer a new writer looking to turn his/her craft into a profession?

keep a journal, a blog, a word document, anything in which you can constantly record daily thoughts. the more you write, the better you become. feedback is also extremely important, so don’t worry about burdening your friends with endless rambles or notes, if they’re real friends who actually believe in you, they’ll read, analyze and criticize.

Beyond your work as a writer, what else have you done professionally?

what i’m endearingly entitling a “hollywood brat, ” i’ve been slowly building my cred as a hollywood assistant working the rank and file day job in a creative department at a studio. aside from spending my days reading scripts, answering calls and other miscellaneous industry tasks, i also work closely with the NYU alumni committee in los angeles, building bridges between college graduation and the real world.
