Can you help a family out?

Oscar Garcia remembered from Go Fund Me Page

Tragedy struck my little corner of L.A again Saturday night. Two young men were gunned down walking about  near a friends home.

Details are sketchy.  Both young men have no known “history” and were active in local sports.  One went to Monrovia High School, the other at Monrovia Canyon High School.

Sadly Oscar Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.  The other simply known as “Christian” on social media is in critical but stable condition.

The community kids got together and held an impromptu memorial at the local Skate Park with the family present to share their stories of Oscar.

The Schools held memorials on campus today for the students.  Grief Counselors were on hand to help the students cope with the loss of a friend and classmate.

A gofundme has been established to help out the Garcia family with funeral expenses and a memorial.

10th Annual Concorso Ferrari

https://youtu.be/B_JUAQucRro

Sunday I dragged myself out of bed early, not for a box of donuts, but to wander a mile or so up and down Colorado Boulevard in Old Town Pas to admire 150, give or take, Ferrari’s. Some really rare and vintage were well represented.

There are more unfiltered raw jpeg in my Concorso Ferrari flickr album.

San Gabriel River is flowing deep this spring

All that glorious rain that fell this winter made a dent in the 9+ year old drought through out the Los Angeles Basin.   The impact of those rains is most evident in the San Gabriel Canyon.  Both major dams are way up…and where the river was a barely a trickle where the East Ford and West Fork of the San Gabriel River meet the water is at near historic highs.  All that water will eventually work its way down to recharging out depleted water tables.

To get there to see it and the wild flowers in bloom take the 210 towards Azusa, exit CA Highway 39 and head north into the Canyon.  Word of caution, grab your Adventure Pass at the Rangers station at the mouth of San Gabriel Canyon to avoid a ticket for not having a permit.

Ferraris on Colorado returns to Old Town Pas Sunday 4/23

https://youtu.be/kx5qjXqG7qM

Mark you calendars.  The biggest Ferrari only show in Los Angeles will take place Sunday 4/23 in Old Town Pasadena. The show is limited to 150 cars. Officially known as the Concorso Ferrari will have a wonderful collection of vintage to nearly new Ferraris for you to ooh and ah over as you stroll Colorado Boulevard.

The cars start arriving as early as 7:30 and are all in place by the opening at 10AM.  You’re welcome to line up and watch them assemble and listen to the glorious roar that only a Ferrari tuned exhaust can make, just don’t expect to get up close and personal with the cars that early.  Note the show is over at 3PM.

Significant Ferraris from around the country will line Colorado Boulevard from Pasadena Avenue to Raymond Avenue.  Map Here
