Driving down Pasadena Avenue in South Pasadena a couple of weekends ago, we noticed an unusual sight. There was literally a fork in the road.

I’m not so curious about why the fork is there or even who put it there. I love the whimsy of it all. Reminds of that scene in The Muppet Movie. I hope it withstands all this wind.
Here’s a closer look:

Backstory. Though, technically it’s not a fork a divided roadway with only one choice of direction. But then again, that’s a sculpture, not a fork either.
I stopped by in March and saw a leprechaun there

Ceci n’est pas une fourchette.
There is a story in the LA Times from last November about this: http://articles.latimes.com/2009/nov/07/local/me-pasadena-fork7
Shades of Johnny Carson’s character Art Fern! FF to 9:40.
Thanks the LAT story, Bert. I had been discussing this with some people yesterday and we were trying to figure out when it showed up. I first saw it 2 weeks ago. One lady insisted it showed up on April 1. One other person said it’s been there since the summer! Each with their own reasons why. I love people!
freeeaking awesome. Thanks. :)
I want these at every forking road in LA.
Every forking road.
