If you want a true bit of Burbank history, the oldest still operating restaurant there is Chili John's on Burbank Boulevard, in business there since 1946. I've never had their chili, but I hear it's great.

In honor of the Oscars, I vote for Roscoe's and Boardners. Old Hollywoodish, sort of.

Roscoe's! Roscoe's! Roscoe's! Did I mention Roscoe's? If you want to make this a fair fight, we could tweak the West Side event to remove the redundant artery clog of Johnnie's and substitute a bar such as the Backstage on Culver Blvd., which is probably only a mile or two away.

All awesome choices. I had to vote for the Smokehouse. ITs an awesome classic style Bar and Grill with pretty terrific food. We used them a few times for large gatherings at Christmas and they were able to accomodate us with no problems and give us terrific service.

I drive by the Smokehouse bi-weekly, and have always wanted to check it out. I'd also be down with Roscoes and Boardners.
