Classic Eats #8: Save The Date!

classiceatsClassic Eats is back in 2010!

Save the date: Saturday, January 23, 2010. We’ll start at our normal early hour of 5 or 6 pm (Depending on where we end up).

Voting opens in early January. We still have plenty of places on the list to go to. I’ve had one direct plea to add Cole’s to the next round of voting. No matter where we end up, I can’t wait to see you all there!

  1. Does Cole’s count as “classic” following the reboot? I’d suggest Langer’s, the pastrami there has been getting staggering praise from both Bill Bratton and several NY deli folks as being the best in the country.

  2. I vote for anyplace I can bring a newborn. I mean, I can’t promise I’ll be up for it, but it’s possible. And I intend to begin the baby’s education on the history of Los Angeles immediately.

  3. Cole’s is 101 years old. Serving the same sandwich and surrounded by the same smell of bum-urine.
    However, I would walk over broken glass for Langer’s. It’s a win-win.

    additional facts:
Langer’s has its own bum effluvia deal.
It closes at, like, 5 PM.
    Cole’s serves great margaritas…
