It's a little ways out there, but it's not like we're talking Covina, or anything. You'll probably be able to make it back home by morning.

Good call, Matt. Dinner at North Woods Inn, drinks further down Rosemead at the Bahooka (Polynesian theme restaurant, scorpion bowl cocktails.) Classic! I hope Julia is reading from her far away location. This pair should definitely be on the poll for upcoming Classic Eats.

I can't take it. I have to go! Hoping sometime this week for a late lunch/happy hour kind of thing. Matt, you (and anyone else, really) are welcome to join me. OMG, I can't wait!

I went to The Boat!

There's also a North Woods Inn in Buena Park? La Mirada? Wherever it is, it's right off of the 5 south of Norwalk. And there used to be one on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore (Long Beach).

Oh, the cheese butter. I can taste it now. When Clearman's Galley (aka "The Boat," formerly across the parking lot from Northwoods Inn) was open, you could get the coldest Old Milwaukee in town, Clearman's famous blue cheese salad, and a seemingly endless supply of cheese toast made with that butter for 25¢ a slice. Man, I miss that cheese toast.
