I stumbled across the work of ARMOgedon 2057 while skimming new stuff on Wooster Collective. I was blown away and it’s been a while since I’ve seen something that grabbed me as quickly as this did. I was excited to learn he is a Los Angeles based artist and even better than he has a new show opening in LA later this month. Being a typography nerd, seeing some of those elements pulled into paintings of this nature was really exciting and I can’t wait to see more.
Those are fantastic.
Fun toying with Illustrator and 3d rendering software.
Except those are done with paint on canvas…
They’re printed on canvas. Have you ever seen them in person?
Whether or not you’ve seen them in person, if you get a chance, next time look at them up close. They are all digital prints on canvas. I was confused when I saw them on Wooster, because these are all basically computer printouts, only on canvas instead of paper.
I have not seen them in person as I posted this prior to the event, but I was led to believe the pieces for the show were painted, not printed.
