I realize that few will see the logic in what I'm about to say, but from where I stand, support for same sex marriage is growing whether millions of campaign dollars are spent on it or not - because more and more people, especially young people, are getting to know openly gay people and older people who think the only place for gays is the closet are dying off.

So frankly, I think what same sex marriage proponents should do is raise just enough money to handle the footwork to get "Shall we repeal prop 8?" on the ballot at EVERY election, EVERY year, and spend not a dime more on ads or posters or campaigns. Meanwhile, opponents of same sex marriage can go ahead and flush tens of millions every year trying to defeat the measure, and maybe they will a couple more times, but eventually they'll lose, because you can't stop progress.

I just like the idea of homophobes going broke on this.
