There was a place on Main St. in Alhambra called Angel’s Soul Food that is now out of business. El Chavo, is that where you’re talking about? That place had good chicken (a little salty) and okay mac, but everything else wasn’t that wonderful. I’m told there’s places in Pasadena too, but considering how bad the BBQ is there, I’m not rushing over until I hear from someone I trust. There is a place in Altadena that’s open randomly. Little room in a white clapboard building. I think it’s on Hill, but not sure.

There was a place in S. San Gabriel that was supposed to be really good (not that I would know) but it went out of business. Much closer to the Eastside too. Yay for El Serenoans! :)

Roscoes is definitely inconsistent – I’ve had some of the driest chicken ever there, but also some of the best meals… and my one visit to Aunt Kizzy’s was quite pleasant. That said, I’m pretty excited now about Miss Peaches… thanks for the heads up.
