		<description>I dunno - this is a trend I&#039;ve noticed for the past few years, but hadn&#039;t seen written about. I&#039;m a little biased, though, since I know a couple of the families involved. Still, I&#039;m not going to bemoan anyone for pursuing their passions and using all their resources. I also do think its a trend worth noting, as the Times did... and even if you don&#039;t like this article, the NY Times frequently covers LA better than the LA Times.

I imagine NYT writers move in rarefied circles when they&#039;re here (and they consider themselves a national newspaper for the rich anyway) but you&#039;d think they would have the self-awareness to realize how lame an article like this comes off. At least it was in the silliest section of the paper.
